Amanda Lautermilch is an experienced planning, design, and construction leader with a proven history of guiding cross-functional teams to deliver mission-aligned healthcare facilities. As Director of Design and Construction at Novant Health, she brings a collaborative approach that fosters creativity, innovation, and shared vision across stakeholders. Her strength in consensus-driven, evidence-based decision-making ensures projects are executed efficiently while supporting patient-centered care.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Bachelor of Arts in English & Communication with Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (expected December 2025). She thrives on bringing people together to achieve remarkable outcomes that advance both organizational goals and community health.
Garrett Olin, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C - McCulloch England
Executive Vice President, Director, Architect
Garrett Olin has dedicated his career to healthcare architecture since joining McCulloch England in 1999 as a part-time CAD operator while still in high school. After completing both his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he joined the firm full time and now serves as a Project Architect. Garrett’s experience spans large acute-care, multi-phase projects, freestanding medical office buildings, and small-scale renovations and upfits. His recent work includes a 5-year, $40 million addition and renovation at CarolinaEast Medical Center and the $120 million addition and vertical expansion at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. Known for his deep expertise in healthcare design, Garrett continues to deliver thoughtful, complex projects that advance patient care and community health.
Derek Lanning - JE Dunn Construction
Senior Preconstruction Manager
Derek Lanning serves as Senior Preconstruction Manager for JE Dunn Construction, where he leverages his expertise in construction management and client collaboration to deliver transformational solutions with certainty of results. With over 20 years in the construction industry, more than six years at JE Dunn, a foundation in Construction Management from Kirkwood Community College, and an academic background in English from the University of Iowa, Derek brings both technical expertise and strong communication skills to enriching lives through inspired people and places.. His role centers on building strong partnerships, aligning project goals with client vision, and ensuring every facility contributes lasting value to the communities it serves.
